Vince Carter, member of 2024 Hall of Fame Class, joins TNT Sports as studio analyst
Vince Carter joins the Emmy award-producing program at TNT Sports starting Thursday, Oct. 17.
TNT Sports today announced that Vince Carter – one of the most electrifying basketball players of all time and member of this year’s Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame class – will debut in a new and expanded role starting Thursday, Oct. 17, as a part of NBA on TNT’s preseason coverage.
Carter will serve as a regular studio analyst for NBA on TNT Tuesday, appearing alongside Shaquille O’Neal, Candace Parker and Adam Lefkoe. The NBA on TNT Tuesday franchise, a two-time Sports Emmy winner for outstanding interactive experience (original programming), returns starting in January.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to expand my role with the TNT Sports family,” said Carter. “Top notch people, top notch productions, top notch coverage of the NBA…I appreciate the Tuesday night crew, Shaq, Candace and Adam saving a seat for me, honored to be a part of it, we are going to have some fun this season.”
Additionally, Carter – dubbed “half man, half amazing” for his thrilling, never-seen-before slam dunks – will be featured regularly on NBA TV throughout the 2024-25 NBA season. Last season, Carter contributed as a guest analyst on TNT and NBA TV for select nights.

Carter played a record-setting 22 seasons in the NBA, totaling eight NBA All-Star selections after being selected fifth overall in the 1998 NBA Draft. Named the 1999 NBA Rookie of the Year as a member of the Toronto Raptors, Carter would also play with the New Jersey Nets, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks during his career.
Among his many accomplishments, Carter won the 2000 Slam Dunk contest in a performance for the ages, along with helping lead USA Basketball Men’s Olympic Team to a gold medal in 2000. He was also named the 2016 NBA Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year and the 2020 NBA Sportsmanship Award winner.
Prior to the NBA, Carter was an All-American at the University of North Carolina and a McDonald’s All-American in high school.
Carter’s No. 15 was honored at UNC following his collegiate career and will be retired this season by the Raptors and Brooklyn Nets.
TNT will feature a 65-game schedule during the 2024-25 NBA regular season, starting with a blockbuster Opening Night doubleheader on Tuesday, Oct. 22, featuring the defending NBA Champion Boston Celtics with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Jrue Holiday hosting the New York Knicks with Jalen Brunson alongside new additions Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns at 7:30 p.m. The night’s second game will feature the Los Angeles Lakers with LeBron James and Anthony Davis hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves with Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle at 10 p.m.
NBA TV will televise 107 live games during the 2024-25 regular season starting with a 2024 Kia NBA Tip-Off tripleheader on Saturday, Oct. 26. In the night’s first game, the Denver Nuggets and Nikola Jokic will host the LA Clippers and Kawhi Leonard at 5 p.m., followed by the Orlando Magic and Paolo Banchero visiting the Memphis Grizzlies and Ja Morant at 8 p.m. The Lakers and James hosting the Sacramento Kings and newly added DeMar DeRozan will cap off the night at 10:30 p.m.
