TOP STORYLINES FROM OCT. 29 👉📝

  1. Nikola Jokić couldn’t score 40 or more points for the third straight game, but he continues to do historical feats. He became only the second player (Oscar Robertson was the first) in NBA history to record at least 29 points, 18 rebounds and 16 assists in a game. To make it sweeter, it was in a 144-139 win over the Nets in overtime.
  2. Anthony Edwards came out like a man on fire in the first quarter, possibly with revenge in mind from the team’s West Conference Finals loss to the Mavericks last season. However, it was Kyrie Irving’s fiery 25-point effort in the second half that led to another victory for Dallas, 120-114.
  3. No Stephen Curry, no Andrew Wiggins, no problem. Lindy Waters III and Buddy Hield catapulted the Warriors to a 124-106 win over the Pelicans. Golden State outscored New Orleans 110-75 in the final three quarters of the game after trailing 31-14 at the end of the first quarter.

Buddy Hield sinks his seventh triple of the game for 28 points, with 19 coming in the fourth quarter. The Warriors now have a 17-point lead with only seconds remaining in the contest.

Buddy from deep 🗡️

Hield is 5-9 from three and now has 19 points on the evening as the Warriors have built a 99-88 lead over the Pelicans with seven minutes left to go in the game.

All the way back ⏩

Lindy Waters III nails the triple to give the Warriors a 69-67 lead almost halfway through the third quarter.

Waters started the second half in place of Buddy Hield and has been a spark plug for Golden State. The 27-year-old has 17 points (6-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt) and grabbed seven rebounds.

The Kings defeated the Jazz 113-96, as their entire starting five scored in double figures. Sam Lacey officially leads the way in Kings history with 950 from when the team was rooted in Kansas City.

Rejected at the rim 🚫

Yves Miss denies Jonathan Kuminga in the paint for his first block of the game and eighth on the season. The rookie out of Baylor is already proving to be a formidable rim protector for the Pelicans.

New Orleans leads 36-24 just over three minutes into the second quarter.

Denver picks up the win in overtime

The Nuggets ultimately got the win in Brooklyn on Tuesday, outscoring the Nets 144-139. Nikola Jokić had a historic performance, joining Oscar Robertson as the only other NBA player to record at least 29 points, 18 rebounds and 16 assists in a game.

Luka Dončić fell just shy of a triple-double, with eight rebounds and nine assists to go with 24 points.

How’d he do that? 🤯

Luka Dončić finds Spencer Dinwiddie for the no-look pass in the corner, and Dinwiddie nails the three. The Mavericks have built an 80-73 lead late in the third quarter.

Key storylines 📜🍿

What to monitor during tonight’s four games:

  1. The Mavericks travel back to Minnesota for the first time since they punched their ticket to the NBA Finals last season. These teams last met in the 2024 Western Conference Finals, where Dallas ousted the Timberwolves in five games before falling short to the Celtics in the Finals.
  2. Utah is one of two teams that have yet to secure a win in the 2024-25 season. Sitting at 0-3 to begin their campaign, they’ll be working to put one in the win column when they host the 1-2 Sacramento Kings.
  3. The re-tooled Warriors will take the floor without Stephen Curry (ankle) and Andrew Wiggins (back). They’ll be looking for contributions from new acquisitions Buddy Hield and Kyle Anderson in their absences. Not to mention second-year man, Brandin Podziemski, who will likely start in Curry’s place when they host the Pelicans.
