No. 16 pick: Jared McCain

McCain is one-and-done after joining the Blue Devils as a five-star recruit, a 2023 McDonald’s All-American and California Mr. Basketball. McCain also won gold while representing the United States at the FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship. A viral content creator with nearly three million followers on TikTok, McCain averaged 14.3 points on 46.2% shooting, 5.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 36 starts this season.

McCain’s pedigree carried over to two 30-point performances in the NCAA Tournament, as well as seven games with at least four made 3s this season — flashes of serious next-level scoring ability. Scoring is the appeal, as McCain is a two-way competitor but shouldn’t be considered as a sure-fire asset on the defensive end in the NBA. No. 41 pick: Adem Bona

Bona is an explosive and quick player on both ends of the court. That works in his favor on the offensive side of the ball as he can stretch the floor and drive to the rim despite being a non-factor as an outside shooter. He’s also one of the most efficient rim finishers in the country, and that’ll likely be his bread and butter at the next level, especially if the shooting doesn’t improve.

He’s also a better passer than he’s given credit for. Bona is a bit undersized to play power forward at the next level, but he compensates for his lack of length with his explosiveness and mobility. Bona shouldn’t have issues handling the physicality of playing against tougher or taller opponents. Other areas of improvement are his tendency to commit fouls and lack of activity on the glass, two areas in which he needs to work to improve his NBA profile as a non-shooting big man. — RotoWire.
